Leading cardiologists participate in Visura webinar, The Pathway to Standard of Care: TEECAD® Usage in the Clinical Workflow

July 28, 2025 – Minneapolis, MN - Visura Technologies, Inc., a privately-held medical device company dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art visualization solutions to improve the safety and success of transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) probe intubations, announced today a webinar on July 31, 2025 at 5:00 pm CT/6:00pm ET led by leading cardiac imaging physicians. The webinar will discuss the guidelines from the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and the Society of Cardiac Anesthesiologists (SCA) for the use of visualization to guide TEE probe placement. In addition, the physician panel will present a proposed clinical workflow for the integration of TEECAD into everyday clinical use. The presenters and panelists for this webinar include:

·      Omar Khalique, MD – Director of Cardiac Imaging at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY

·      Smadar Kort, MD – Director of Echocardiography, System Director of Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Imaging, Director of Structural Heart Imaging Program, and Co-Director of the Valve Center at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY

·      Sunil Mankad, MD – Professor of Medicine and Vice Chair, Education and Quality, Division of Cardiovascular Ultrasound at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN

·      Chad Olinger, DO – President and Director of Echocardiography at Metropolitan Heart and Vascular Institute in Coon Rapids, MN

For over 20 years, ASE guidelines have supported visualization to aid in difficult probe placement. [1],[2] 2019 ASE guidelines note “direct laryngoscopy by an anesthesiologist may aid visualization and esophageal intubation, if there is difficulty during blind probe placement.” [3] Until the commercial availability of TEECAD, physicians had to rely on tools not intended for TEE probe placement, such as video laryngoscopes, to provide needed visualization, often adding time and resources to the procedure. TEECAD is the world’s first disposable camera designed by a cardiologist specifically for cardiologists to use for real-time visualization during TEE intubation. Compatible with leading TEE probe systems, it connects seamlessly to the probe, providing physicians with real-time images of the esophageal inlet and surrounding structures during intubation for more efficient and effective probe placement.

“The addition of visualization to TEE intubation definitely helps physicians advance the TEE probe with more confidence as they make their way to the esophageal inlet,” said Chad Olinger, DO. “As reflected in both published data and society guidelines, physicians have known for decades that visualizing the esophageal inlet helps guide probe placement when blind insertion is difficult or unsuccessful. With TEECAD, we now have a tool specifically designed and intended for this procedure. I am excited to be working with other cardiac imaging leaders to help incorporate TEECAD into the routine TEE workflow at heart centers across the US. ”
